Welcome to
our new blog for the university subject of Sport Business 15/16. The main topic
of our blog, as the name indicates, is the UEFA Youth League. We will try to
approximate the less known of the UEFA’s competitions to all of you, because we
think that they will continue growing and increasing their impact in the next
years as they have done since its creation in 2013.
Originally
titled as UEFA Under-19 is a competition for all under age players registered
to the 32 senior clubs that qualify for the group stage of the UEFA Champions
League, but this year the number of teams that participate in this Youth League
has increased to 64, including 32 domestic youth champions, in an innovative and entertaining new competition system that we will explain in the following posts of the blog.
Apart from
the competition system, the (brief) history, the impact in the academies of the different
clubs and the business and economic part of this competition, we will also talk
about similar competitions related with young players and the importance of
this kind of tournaments in all of the mentioned aspects.
You can
follow the competition here:

Nice blog bro
ResponderEliminarNice blog! I like the idea
ResponderEliminarHey guy's ! I have a question for you because I don't understand the main point of this competition: so it is to find the best young players and after hire us in the best "national" team or it is just to promote more football, for people who want to see more football? Because i have never seen this before so thank you to learn me something new :) haah
ResponderEliminarThe main objective is to improve the level of the youngsters in the European top academies. It's a reality that playing against the best teams in a similar competition to the one that will play in the future they can grow as a player and also know the real meaning of competition at the maximum level. They gain a lot of experience in a UYL participation. At the beginning, it was only a reward to the academies of the best teams in Europe (the ones that play the Champions League) but since this year (as we will explain in the following posts) the reward is more open and fair, so also the teams that wins the national youth league, despite if the senior team is good or not, can also grow and play against the best.
EliminarIt’s also useful for the scouts of the clubs, they can see the best youth players playing at the same competition and at the same level, so they compare better and decide to sign or not.
Thank you for comment :)
